It started in a pub. Someone noticed that Gloria Hunniford and Judith Chalmers were born impossibly close together. They weren't — 10 April 1940 and 10 October 1935 — but they were both born on the 10th, and after four pints that was enough. The game that followed: name someone born between two birthdays, and keep making the gap smaller.

How it works

Ten levels. The gap between the two birthdays starts at ten years and closes to ten days: ten years, five years, three years, eighteen months, a year, six months, three months, six weeks, three weeks, ten days.
The year counts. Born on the same day as either anchor doesn't count. Strictly between.
Three lives. A wrong birthday costs one. A name we don't have costs nothing. One go per name per run — once you've played someone, they're played.
The list is a few thousand well-known people from Wikidata. Type a name that isn't on it and the game asks Wikidata for that person's birthday on the spot, so almost anyone with a Wikipedia page is fair game.
